Service Pack 2 for Windows XP finally arrives
Microsft has finally started releasing service pack 2 for windows XP. It is available for download from their website of through Windows Update.Initially only the English version is available, but more languages will be released as soon as they are available. New features include
- Pop-up ads blocked in Internet Explorer
- Internet connection firewall is now turned on by default
- Outlook Express, Internet Explorer and Windows Messenger warn about attachments
- Web graphics in Outlook Express no longer loaded by default
- Protection against buffer over-runs
- A new Security Center that provides information about anti-virus and firewall settings, and availability of updates
- Windows Messenger Service turned off by default
